Iotape (Aytap) Ancient City, Located in the Alanya district of Antalya province , this Ancient City is known as Aytap by the local people . The ancient city was named after the Commagene King IV, who lived between the years 38-72 AD. It was named after Iotape, the wife of Antiochus. The ruins of the ancient city bear the characteristics of the Roman and Byzantine Periods.

There is a rectangular basilica and a small church with a single nave attributed to Hagios Georgios Stratelates due to its inscribed fresco. We recommend you to see it when you go. There are also the remains of a bath in the same place. There is also a temple dedicated to Trajan in a ruin on the sea side.

How to Get to Iotape Ancient City? 

The ancient city of Iotape (Aytap) is located in the province of Antalya, at the 33rd kilometer of the Alanya-Gazipaşa highway. When you see the Yeşilöz village sign at the 25th km, continue on the road known as the old coastal road. After 7-8 km, you will see the acropolis surrounded by walls on the hill. While those who leave from Gazipaşa   are coming towards Alanya, take a turn from Kâhyalar village to the old coastal road and you will reach it after 5 km.
